The tooth is touch-sensitive, but not loosened.
Clinical
- Touch-sensitivity
- No increased mobility
Radiological
- Tooth appears normal and not dislocated
- Rule out additional fracture in the root area
Therapy
- Splinting for approx. 2 weeks (for the reduction of touch-sensitivity)
- No root canal treatment, also in the case of initial lack of reaction to the sensitivity test
Prognosis
- Vitality of the pulp maintained in > 95% of cases
- Increased risk of pulp necrosis in the case of additional, unfilled dentine wounds or exposed pulp
- Occurrence of resorptions very unlikely, occasionally transient resorptions ("healing related resorption")
